We love coffee!
Like most of you, it started with a few sips. Innocently enough, our parents introduced the beverage to us as kids. A cup of Folgers here, a sip of espresso there, it comes with the territory when you're from an Italian family. However, not content to confine our coffee consumption to our families' schedule, soon we began to brew it on our own. Little did they know, this early exposure to the dark stuff would have us completely hooked by the time we were in high school. Years passed before we started really exploring the potential of coffee for ourselves. Eventually though, Growing bored of the ubiquitous Mr.Coffee machine, we began looking for something more exciting. Perhaps it was the old French press that lay collecting dust in the cabinet, or maybe a YouTube video reviewing a burr grinder; regardless, something piqued our curiosity. Like the event horizon from which one can enter but never return, an all out obsession was born. Enlightened by the accumulated knowledge of coffee communities across the internet, we couldn't and wouldn't settle for anything less than the best.
"Why don't we roast our own coffee?" This was the natural question we found ourselves at upon learning that coffee is only fresh for around 2 weeks after roasting, and upon realizing there was literally no way to purchase truly fresh roasted beans from the grocery store or anywhere else in our town. A sample of green, unroasted Ethiopian beans, a skillet, and a stove was all it took. Soon we were drinking fresh coffee - I mean really fresh coffee - and it was like nothing we'd ever had before. It was so much more alive and exciting! Even though this early experiment didn't produce a consistent roast, it was still the best coffee we'd ever had.
Thanks largely to the internet, people across the world were now armed with the knowledge that the pinnacle of coffee excellence can really only be achieved with, among other things, a fresh product. With years of research, upgraded machinery, and a burning desire for the utmost quality, we finally had a product we could be proud of.
What began as an obsession has now culminated into a thriving partnership. With pride, we would love nothing more than to bring our service to East Lansing. You deserve a revived coffee experience, one that gives you the convenience you're used to, and the quality you've been missing out on.
We've spent quite some time developing our craft... It's about time we share.
